I just posted a section on festival fashion, from high street to high end and I do appologise for this, but I just had to review the D&G S/S show! I thought it was actually amazing looking, so wearable and so inspiring! Also, coming from someone who loves dressing like a 6 year old, i felt totaly in my element. I dont mean that as in the clothing looks like an Iggle Piggle fleece, I mean its extremly cute, girly and light hearted!
The show which I think was during Milan Fashion Week, befor even having any models walk down, made me fall in love! The stage was lined with lovely bright flowers in all difrrent colours along with the neat crisp wooden floor in perfect condition. Automaticaly I felt festivaly, without even seeing any garments. To me it created something dreamy and fairy tale like. Now im expecting chiffons, colours and something quite mellow?
The show its self is amazing, theres florals, ginghams, soft kahkis, loose fits, wellingtons, clinched in shapes and floor length casual dress's. I think what made this look complete, indervidual and work so well was the head scarfs. As silly as that might sound it screams festival more then a tent and I havent seen it used in any other shows. The red gingham also brung this show alive, huge scales and wearable shapes made me see this look out in Hyde Park or a casual stroll through some markets, meaning its fully wearable! The gorgeous florals were also amazing, very fresh and summery. Gave me a true feeling of summer time. Everything down to the bags and shoes screamed the summer season, i couldnt faul any of it. My favorite peices were the tiny gingham shorts and playsuit and the denim dungerees with the frill of gingham running through the bottom, now I dont know if im gingham mad but its such a pretty pattern, it reminds me of being youthfull. They were so cute, anyone could wear them, and at the end of the day isnt that how a show should be? Relateable to everyone? I can deffinatly see Topshop copy catting this! And i dont blame them, if they do, I for one will be in there having a nose about! I hope somewere does though, I cant afford the amazing authentic D&G clothing, a inspired peice is good enough for me though!
